On this Partner Spotlight we’ll be talking to Scott Emerson from What’s In-Store Music!

Q: What do you love about what you do?

A: Although I do work with major acts, what I like most about What’s In-Store Music, is that it provides a platform for independent artists to get their music heard and discovered across the country effectively and affordably. Hearing artists share their stories with me about friends and fans reaching out to them after hearing/discovering their song in a retailer, never gets old.

Q: What is your favorite type of music, any favorite artists/bands?

A: I love all kinds of music. Traveling around the world with my wife, I’ve discovered so many styles and artists I’m attracted to, from European electronic artists to Middle Eastern grooves. When at home, if I’m not listening to that, I’m a classic rock fan, Doobie Brothers, Eagles, Steely Dan, The Stones, that sort of thing. I also never miss the chance to see Gov’t Mule when they come to town.

Q: What are you most excited for in 2024?

A: Currently, the thing I am most excited about for 2024 is rolling out a new program called The Walmart Radio Takeover. We’ll be providing opportunities for major acts, mid-level acts, and smaller indie acts to be heard in a pre-recorded program in every single Walmart and Sam’s Club in the country. With 37 million customers and 2.1 million employees exposed to Walmart Radio every single day, this is sure to be a game changer.
